In this three hour exploration…

* We will unwind some of our stuck patterns in body and mind through partner activities.

* Included in our Thai Bodywork sequence material this day will be some postures on the back line of the body that address shortened/contracted back line fascia and contribute to tension in the back and neck. This will leave you with knowledge of a mini-sequence you can practice again and again on your friends or loved ones!
* Dress in loose clothing and bring layers (givers will get warm/receivers will get cool!). No mats or props needed.

* This is an experiential class - no note-taking necessary and Jess will provide a summary of class at finish.

*All levels welcome, no partner and no experience necessary - but even those with experience can benefit from these foundational practices. Note - It is recommended you come with someone you already know and trust as your partner to feel safe and able to let go during our time together.

About the practice:

Thai Bodywork is an ancient healing art, said to have originated before the time of the Buddha. Often called the “lazy man's yoga”, the receiver is passive and the practitioner stretches and compresses their body. When offering Thai Bodywork we draw from thousands of years of healing, and incorporate elements of acupressure, massage, and deep muscle work through bodyweight mechanics. In this Thai Bodywork introductory workshop, we will cultivate unconditional loving kindness (known as metta) to bring balance, trust, and connection to both giver and receiver.

We will use the tools of receptivity, gravity, and sensitivity as you are guided through physical techniques that will allow you to practice both roles with ease and confidence. You can expect to feel restored and more connected to yourself and others when you leave!
